Message From MD May – 2020

Dear friends,

Warm greetings on the World Labour Day!

In these challenging times, we are all navigating through uncertainty. I hope that you all are getting back to your workplace, healthy and safe. I want to begin by thanking all employees of Asset Homes, who are presently working at the corporate office, project sites, from home, and branch offices to fulfill the important duties and move forward. Your commitment and dedication to continue the work at hand is recognized and much appreciated.

Hon’ble Prime minister Sri. Narendra Modi has urged all Indians to follow seven important points during these months of COVID. The first and foremost among them was to take care of the elderly. We have taken special care to avoid employing people among such age groups, especially those who are ill or suffering from any disease.

The next important tip was to follow social distancing. We have ensured social distancing and wearing masks at all our sites and offices. Also, only 50 % of the staff are working nowadays to avoid crowding. We urge you to follow Ayush advisories to increase immunity. The prime minister also called upon citizens to help the poor and needy who are facing severe financial problems due to the Covid-19 crisis. We were fortunate to be an associate partner of the NANMA foundation, in providing food to the needy people on the streets during the entire lockdown period.

Another larger appeal was to business houses, who have been forced to shut operations or limit them during the nationwide lockdown. Prime Minister requested employers across the nation to show compassion towards employees and we have decided to pay the salaries in full for the lockdown days. Prime Minister Modi urged citizens to show respect to frontline workers in the country. His message comes after repeated incidents of misbehavior and assault against health workers and doctors across the country. We were able to provide lunch to the special team of doctors and medical staff to Kasaragod during their journey from Trivandrum. He also requested citizens to download the Aarogya Setu application, which uses location data of individuals and helps in contact tracing. The government has been urging individuals to download the application as it would help it monitor the situation better. I can proudly say that all our employees have downloaded the app and using it. We have done justice to the laws of the country and the direction of our state and national leaders while we were passing through these unprecedented times.

I believe, the basic principle of laws, process, and systems in place, at any organization is equality, accountability, fairness in the application, separation of powers, participation in decision-making, legal certainty, avoidance of arbitrariness and procedural transparency. I have done my level best to adhere to the above principles while working in our organization. Post lockdown days won’t be different. Asset will remain as an Asset culturally and will prove itself as a great place to work.

Wish you all the best and Godspeed for the month of May.

Warm regards
