30th Beyond Square Feet Lecture Series: A Tribute to Water and Wisdom

The 30th edition of Asset Homes’ Beyond Square Feet Lecture Series brought together thought leaders, environmentalists, and literary enthusiasts for a discussion on water literacy and urban safety. Held at KMA House, Kochi, in observance of World Water Day, the event featured Alankode Leelakrishnan, environmental activist, poet, and lecturer, who delivered a compelling lecture titled “Rivers, Mountains, Forests.”
In his address, Alankode emphasized the urgency of water literacy, warning that by 2030, a significant global population may struggle for access to drinking water. He also paid tribute to legendary poet Vayalar Ramavarma, whose verses encapsulated Kerala’s rivers, mountains, and cultural landscapes. Drawing a deep connection between literature and geography, Alankode recalled how Vayalar’s poetic imagery continues to shape the understanding of Kerala’s natural heritage. He also shared anecdotes about how poetry and nature intertwine, reinforcing the need to preserve Kerala’s unique environment.
The event also marked the launch of the second edition of Safety in Multi-Storey Apartments: A Complete Handbook, a collaborative initiative by Asset Homes and Mathrubhumi.com. The online edition of handbook was released by Alankode Leelakrishnan in the presence of Naveen Srinivasan, Head of Marketing Solutions, Mathrubhumi, and Glisson George, Chief Engineer, QEST, Asset Homes.
